WNBA Player Glory Johnson is Seekin $20,000 in Spousal Support

Glory Johnson submitted a court document requesting Griner pay her $20,000 per month in temporary spousal support, plus another $10,000 to cover attorney’s fees. Johnson filed the court documents on June 29 in Maricopa County, Arizona, less than a month after Griner petitioned to annul their marriage. Both were arrested in April on charges of domestic violence. Griner entered a guilty plea to disorderly conduct and entered a diversionary program whereby all charges would be dismissed if she completed 26 weeks of domestic violence counseling.

John Fogerty Files Civil Suit Against Former Bandmates

Artist John Fogerty  filed a civil claim against his former bandmates for breach of contract regarding their use of the moniker Creedence Clearwater Revisited. Fogerty said that former bassist Stu Cook and drummer Doug Clifford haven’t paid him for the use of his songs as well as his share of their “touring and merchandise” since December 2011. The parties initially came to an agreement in 2001 regarding the name Creedence Clearwater Revisited as well as the performance of CCR’s songs, but Fogerty’s civil claim says Cook and Clifford have refused to honor the agreement. Additionally, the agreement stated that the name Creedence Clearwater Revisited could only be applied to performances featuring both Cook and Clifford onstage simultaneously.

Whole Foods to Anchor New Midtown Tower

The 38-story building at 14th and West Peachtree streets will include 390 upscale apartments and a multi-level, 70,000-square-foot Whole Foods. The Related Group, led by Jorge Pérez, is one of Florida’s most prolific residential developers. Since its inception in 1979, the company has built, rehabilitated and managed more than 90,000 condos and apartments. Currently, The Related Group has more than 50 projects in development, according to the company. Smallwood, Reynolds, Stewart, Stewart is the project architect.

A New Way to Pay

Ohio’s Child Support Central has partnered with MoneyGram and will now allow parents who owe child support payments to make those payments at Wal-Mart or CVS. To pay, parents need their case ID and Cause or Docket number, and paying through MoneyGram charges a $3.99 fee in addition to the payments. MoneyGram also has a mobile app that accepts payments. MoneyGram can electronically send payments to Ohio Child Support Payment.

Woman Injured at Fenway Faces Custody Battle

Tonya Carpenter was injured when a bat flew into the stands during a baseball game earlier this year, she has since been released from the hospital but now faces a legal battle with her ex-husband. He alleges that due to the injury, Carpenter is no longer able to take care of her 7 year old son and he has filed for custody. According to court documents, he stated Carpenter “suffered a traumatic brain injury, is on numerous medications, is not able to drive and requires 24/7 supervision,” rendering her unable to take care of their son.

Proposed Shuttle Service for Cumberland Area

The shuttle is in addition to a bus rapid transit system being considered for the Cobb Parkway area. A report obtained by the Marietta Daily journal found that the project would cost $1.2 million annually to operate, the shuttle would serve the new Atlanta Braves stadium as well as the Cumberland shopping area. The Cobb County commissioners want to allow the public to decide whether they should expand public transportation. A date for that referendum has not been announced. The area has seen increased development since the Atlanta Braves baseball team announced plans to build a new stadium that will open in 2017. Comcast entered into an agreement with the club to lease the anchor building of the mixed use development that will be located within the same complex as SunTrust Park.

Peachtree Lenox Building Purchased by PMRG

Peachtree Lenox stands in the heart of Buckhead next to the W Hotel, The Westin Hotel and Atlanta Financial Center, which is about to become the latest property to hit the red-hot market, potentially fetching at least $270 to $280 a foot. Buckhead is a target for investors again after overbuilding at the end of the last real estate cycle. Since the beginning of 2014, One Buckhead Plaza, Pinnacle, and 3630 Peachtree have all been acquired for more than $300 a foot. The Peachtree Lenox building is slated for several million dollars of upgrades including an architectural redesign of the lobby and common areas.

Singer Chris Brown has indicated that he has filed to establish paternity in Houston. It was reported, Brown’s camp said Guzman initially wanted 15,000 dollars, but he only wanted to pay 2,500 dollars. Brown wants to establish clear custody guidelines. According to the singer Guzman has been denying Brown visits to see his daughter. He is seeking the court’s intervention.

Atlanta MLS Team Searching for Practice Field

A 49-acre parcel in Marietta, Ga., is being eyed as the possible training facility for Atlanta’s new Major League Soccer team, Atlanta United FC. The area is being rejuvenated, aided by the Braves stadium ‘halo effect,’ Cobb officials say. The Franklin Road corridor is two highway exits up from the new Braves mixed-use development in Cobb County’s Cumberland area.
